Send a full inventory even if you are moving only part of a home. A dining setting, outdoor lounge and garage equipment can occupy more space than the number of rooms suggests. Check delivery access before furniture leaves Sydney
Ask your agent or property contact for access photos if you cannot inspect the new home yourself. A street-view image may not show the driveway slope, steps or the actual unloading point.
- Coastal units: obtain lift dimensions, booking instructions, loading-bay clearance and the permitted removal hours. Measure large furniture against the access route.
- Sloping residential blocks: describe stairs, changes in level and the distance from the street to the entrance. Mention large items intended for an upper floor.
- Hinterland and acreage properties: provide gate width, driveway surface, overhead clearance and turning-space information. Ask whether the booked vehicle can reach the house or whether another arrangement is needed.

Prepare for the first night, as well as the truck journey
Pack and label by destination room, with a separate list of box numbers. Keep bedding, basic kitchen items and the fittings for your bed easy to identify. Carry your keys, important documents and personal essentials yourself rather than placing them somewhere inside the load.
